Anxiety in High Functioning Women
You perform well under pressure. You also carry a low hum of anxiety that never fully switches off, and no one around you would guess it.
This is anxiety that hides well. It shows up as thoroughness, as being the one who thinks of everything, as a mind that keeps working long after the workday ends.
What This Can Look Like
-
01
Difficulty relaxing even when there's nothing urgent left to do
-
02
A racing or ruminating mind, especially at night
-
03
Physical symptoms: a tight chest, a clenched jaw, shallow breathing
-
04
A quiet fear that if you stopped managing everything, it would fall apart
Looking fine and feeling fine aren't the same thing.
How I Work
Somatic work helps your nervous system learn a baseline other than alert. Internal Family Systems helps us understand what the anxious part of you is trying to prevent, so it can ease its grip rather than being argued with. Brainspotting is available for anxiety that traces back to specific experiences.
Who I See
Physicians, attorneys, executives, entrepreneurs, and therapists who are exceptionally good at their jobs and privately worn down by their own minds.
