Approach

Brainspotting

A quiet, focused way of working that goes underneath the story to where activation actually lives.

Brainspotting is a therapy that uses a fixed point in your visual field, a spot, to access and process places where the brain and body hold unresolved activation. It grew out of the observation that where you look can change what you're able to access internally.

Why a Fixed Point Matters

Eye position is connected to deeper brain activity, including regions that don't operate through language. When you hold your gaze on a spot connected to a difficult experience, we're not relying on you to explain the experience well. We're working with where it lives, which is often below explanation entirely.

What a Session Looks Like

You'll be sitting comfortably, and we'll find a spot related to whatever we're working with that day, a birth experience, a memory, a persistent physical sensation. Then we stay with it, mostly in a quiet, unhurried way. I'm tracking your process closely, but you don't need to perform insight or narrate constantly. Sometimes very little is said out loud. That's not a sign nothing is happening.

Much of the work happens without discussion, which is unfamiliar if you are used to reasoning your way through things out loud. The processing is doing the work, not the explaining.

Who This Suits

Brainspotting tends to suit women who have already done a lot of thinking about their own patterns and are ready for something that doesn't require more analysis. It's often useful for birth trauma, specific frightening memories, and activation that seems to live in the body even when the mind has moved on.

You won't be rushed. You won't be judged.

A Conversation First

The consultation is free and there is no pressure in it. We talk for a short while, you ask what you want to ask, and you decide afterwards.
