Who I Help

# For the ones who usually hold space for everyone else

Therapists, nurses, social workers, and other helping professionals spend their days attuned to other people. That attunement rarely gets turned toward themselves.

I see a number of patients who work in mental health, medicine, and other helping fields. Knowing the theory doesn't make the lived experience easier, and being trained to help others can make it harder to admit that you need help yourself.

Some of these patients come to me after a difficult birth, some with perinatal anxiety, and some simply worn down by years of being the steady one for their patients or students while managing their own household. Burnout in this group often looks like competence on the outside and depletion underneath.

I approach this work the same way I would with any patient, with Brainspotting, Internal Family Systems, and somatic methods, and without assuming that professional familiarity with therapy means you need less from the process itself.

Knowing how therapy works is not the same as not needing it.

Sessions are available in person at my Prince George office or by telehealth anywhere in Virginia. A free consultation is a low pressure way to start.
