Specialty

# Trauma and PTSD

Trauma isn't only combat or catastrophe. It's anything that overwhelmed your capacity to cope at the time it happened, and stayed in your body afterward.

You might have a clear memory of the event, or a fragmented sense that something happened without a full story attached. Both are workable.

## How Trauma Shows Up

- 01

    Flashbacks, nightmares, or intrusive images

- 02

A startle response that feels out of proportion to the present moment

- 03

Avoidance of places, people, or conversations that touch the memory

- 04

A body that stays braced, tired, or numb long after the event has passed

The body keeps the memory long after the mind has tried to move on.

## How I Work

I use Brainspotting to access and process trauma that lives below the level of language, alongside somatic work that helps regulate your nervous system directly. We move at a pace your system can tolerate. This isn't exposure for its own sake.

## Format

Weekly sessions suit some patients. Others prefer a therapy intensive, a concentrated block of time that can move trauma processing forward without stretching it across many months.
