Perfectionism is often mistaken for a personality trait. More often it's a strategy, learned early, for staying safe, approved of, or in control. ## How It Shows Up - 01 Difficulty accepting good work as finished - 02 Harsh self criticism that outpaces any feedback you receive from others - 03 Trouble delegating, resting, or letting anything be merely adequate - 04 A fear that slowing down will reveal you were never actually capable The bar can move. It's allowed to. ## How I Work We use Internal Family Systems to understand what the perfectionist part of you is protecting against, often an old fear of not being enough. Somatic work addresses the constant low grade tension that perfectionism produces in the body. This isn't about lowering your standards. It's about no longer needing them to keep you safe. ## Who I See High achieving professionals, many of them mothers, who are successful by every visible measure and privately running on empty.
