Specialty

# Intergenerational Trauma

Some of what you carry didn't start with you. It moved through your family, generation to generation, before it reached you.

This might show up as anxiety that predates any clear cause of your own, family patterns you swore you'd never repeat and find yourself repeating, or a sense of inherited urgency around safety and money and control.

## Where This Shows Up

- 01

Anxiety or vigilance that seems out of proportion to your own life circumstances

- 02

Family rules around emotion, achievement, or silence that you absorbed without ever agreeing to

- 03

A strong instinct to protect your children from things you can't fully name

- 04

Physical tension or reactivity that feels older than your own experiences

You didn't invent this pattern. You can still be the one who changes it.

## How I Work

We use Internal Family Systems to separate what's genuinely yours from what you inherited, and somatic work to help your body find a baseline that isn't on constant alert. This is often slow, careful work, and it tends to matter most for women who are now raising the next generation.

## Who I See

Women, often first generation professionals, who feel the weight of family history and want to understand it well enough to set some of it down.
