Leah is self pay and out of network with all plans. That is a clinical decision as much as a billing one, and it changes what happens in the room, what gets written down about you, and who has a say in how long you work together. ## What Private Pay Makes Possible - 01 No diagnosis required to be seen. Nothing about you has to be pathologized for a claim to be paid. - 02 No session limit set by someone who has never met you, and no periodic review deciding whether you have had enough. - 03 No treatment plan filed with a third party, and no notes released to a reviewer as a condition of payment. - 04 No permanent claims record attached to your name in a system you do not control. - 05 The format follows the work. Insurance reimburses a fifty minute hour and does not accommodate a four hour intensive. This practice is not built around a billing code. Nobody outside the room decides when you are finished. ## Fees & Insurance Private Pay - 01 Initial Evaluation: $450 - 02 Individual Therapy (50 minutes): $300 weekly - 03 Specialized Intensives: $2,500 My practice is intentionally small so I can provide personalized, high-quality care without the limitations often imposed by insurance companies. Payment is due at the time of service. The consultation beforehand is free. ## Using Out-of-Network Benefits Although I am not in-network with insurance plans, many clients with PPO or other out-of-network benefits receive partial reimbursement for therapy. If your plan includes out-of-network mental health coverage, you may be able to submit claims to your insurance company and receive reimbursement directly from your insurer. After each session, I can provide a superbill (an itemized receipt with the information your insurance company typically requires) that you may submit for reimbursement. Because every insurance plan is different, I recommend contacting your insurance company before your first appointment and asking: - 01 Do I have out-of-network mental health benefits? - 02 What is my deductible? - 03 What percentage of each session is reimbursed after my deductible is met? - 04 Is preauthorization required? - 05 Are there limits on the number of therapy sessions covered? ## Health Savings Accounts (HSA) & Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) Many clients choose to use their Health Savings Account (HSA) or Flexible Spending Account (FSA) to pay for therapy. If your plan allows, these funds can often be used for mental health services.
